hey matty,
we've been cruising around scandinavia for the last month and i'll be damned if HICKEY isn't an appreciated and saught-after item, even here in the non-english recesses of northern europe. we listened to you in the van today and fuck man, we miss you. a lot. thanks for leaving behind some amazing shit.
xoxo
p.s. one finnish guy, though, did say my HICKEY patch was misspelled (he said it was supposed to be HOCKEY).

hey i've been taking too long to do my stuff but sorry, i'll download a new ftp program this weekend (the free trial on mine ran out) and upload the entire set of the live show on tucson radio (as one mammoth mp3) and do the Hickey/VGS split this week.
brad April 21, 2005 at 7:20 PM
John,

I'm going to be gone for the month of May, so you can take your time. I won't be able to update the site until I get back.

i haven't checked this in a while, and what brougt me here tonight was the fact that i just hooked up my tunrtable to the compute r tonight, and just finished ripping the s/t lp. so i have it as mp3's if anyone wants it. i'm still fairly new to this concept, but i think i did a pretty good job seperating the tracks, and ripping it at a high res...
if anyone's interested, lemme know. i can also email them.

josh.

ps. aesop, it's good to see that you're keeping busy, and creating.

Hey everybody, I have a bunch of mp3s that aren't posted on the site.. I have:
-The Boy Who Cried Werewolf
-Foodstamps and Drink Tickets (as well as mp3 of the VGS half)
-Kingdom Come (manowar)
-Robots Never Cry

and, it looks like songs that used to be on this site aren't on anymore.. ? Hickey Blvd, Last Nite on the Planet (live), etc. I have those too, anyway. also I think I have mp3s of the whole 1st album.

Do you want any of these? I can email them. hickey's still my favorite band.
REALLY excited to hear Rock Jack.
brad April 14, 2005 at 11:00 PM
Mike, thanks for getting me the mp3s. I put them all up. Although, I didn't see Robots Never Cry. Can you send me that one so I can put it up?
mike wilson April 15, 2005 at 4:56 AM
hey Brad, right now I'll send Robots Never Cry, plus a bunch of other stuff too.. Yogurt and more Hickey.
brad April 16, 2005 at 12:51 PM

hey im avel and i run nothing. im just moving and i found a box of the fuck boyz tribute double seven inch and i figured if anybody wanted one email me. there not for sale, just cover the cost of packaging and postage and its a done deal. i figure its better off in the hands of someone who wants one than in a box im my closet.

im not really sure exactly how many i have.

Hey everyone. I run the label that's reissuing the Various States CD with extra stuff on it. I've got some info up right now over at http://www.1234gorecords.com and you can always check there for news as it happens. There's a track listing up for the CD but that's probably not exactly how it's going to be in the end. I'm hoping we can pull together more stuff. We'll see what happens. And this time this record stays in print! I'm committed to back handing the invisable hand of doom on this one.

yo collector shits. i just found the US VS THEM 7" for $1 in a used bin. the human wasteland who put it there decided to keep the zine that goes with it. does anyone want to photocopy the zine and send it to me? i would love you always. hickey will always be my favorite band for being fucking awesome and macing my sworn enemy in the face.

quit capitalizing off of punk. it sucks....really.

yeah, mp3s are easy to make with itunes, which is a free download on apple.com, it'll convert any cd you put in your computer to mp3s if you want it to. since i have this stand-alone cd burner with analog inputs ($50 on craigslist!), i'll verrry soon convert the VGS/Hickey split, the Matty n' Max stuff, and whatever else I find in my damn collection (that isn't already up) to mp3. look for it here next week...after i return from my SNORKEL SAFARI!

god, i'm a dork.

I asked Aesop and he said pretty much put up whatever we want on the site. As long as everyone involved doesn't mind - I'll put up mp3s of every song ever recorded by Fuckboyz/Hickey.

The thing is, I'd need someone to convert them all to mp3 format. We've got the Various States CD up now. I can do the first LP/CD (Probe one) - but the 7"s and comps would have to come from someone else.

John, you said you can convert them for this site?

i just want to say that i totally agree with everything john wrote on here. i think hickey cd's should be issued to every punk kid along with their first mohawk or beer. then maybe some of them might get it and not be total dicks. so brad, if you could please try to get that shit posted it would be awesome....

i'd also like to use this space to say rest in peace to my step-father Brent Taufer who passed away last tuesday, and to Gail Goynes, who finally passed on a few weeks ago after 2 months on life support. it's really fucked up but i think i'm starting to get used to all this fucking death and i don't know why i feel compelled to write about it on here, but i've just spent the last couple days helping my mother sort through and pack her dead husbands life and i can't help but remember when i helped sarah do the same thing with matty's stuff and i feel this fucking ache deep within my soul and i don't know what to do but i'm trying to be strong for my mom... jesus fuck, man... i'm gonna go get really drunk now, some band from washington is playing downstairs in the warehouse i'm moving out of next week...

take care, all of you, please.... 😞
