Sacramento loves Hickey. I set up a few shows for Hickey in Sacto, and Matty got my stupid band, oldmanhomo (myspace.com/oldmanhomo), our only out-of-town gig.

I feel quite honored to have spent the time that I did in his presence...I can't say that I had ever met anyone as kind as he was....

I had tried to get back in touch with him a few years back, and I really wish I had tried harder because now it just feels kinda empty.

I heard a while back about Matty's paasing and was very sad. Here is my matty story...I am good friends with members of the band les turds from gulfport and many years ago..maybe around 1995 or 6...they had a show set up to play with this band hickey out of cali. when we saw them that night we feel in love with their music and with them. my boyfriend and i invited them to come and stay at his little house in long beach for the night..which they took us up on...fun times...party all nite. my boyfriend louis and matty hit it off and sometime in the nite or morn ing he mentioned off handed to matty that he wanted this particular guitar petal, but could not find one he could afford, can't remember now exactly what is was, but about two weeks later we got a package in the mail and there was thew pedal he wanted thanks to matty. he was special and we were able to hang out with them quite a few more times over the next year. in fact it was i who at a show in some shitty ass bar in the middle of nowhere that a friend of ours had set up with hickey and turds that w easked matty if we could buy some merchandise with our foodstamps cuz we were broke as shit as usual and they were so excited and he wrote the song about it late on. damn i miss those days and hickey. what really sucks is in Hurricane Katrina i lost all of my 7 inch records including all of my hickey and turd ones. man that hurt. Long Live Hickey!!!!!

!Hola Hickey fans! This is Delia, a proud member of the Naked Cult. My best friend, Mike Croft, passed away this October and I'm having a real rough time. He introduced me to Hickey after I burned my underwear in his oven many years ago, and it's been my favourite band since. He was a huuuuge fan of Hickey and I take comfort in knowing that wherever he is, Matty Luv's there too

wow, it's really been 4 years since matty passed and i still think about him almost every day. well i'm still doing needle exchange and keeping matty's dream alive, i'd like to think i'm making him proud, i dunno.

Sorry to hear of your loss, Jason. On a lighter note, below is a link for a pamphlet from a hickey show on why hickey deserves a benefit for their then upcoming tour. You need to "unzip" it with winzip (don't worry, it's free...it may try to tell you to stop using the evaluation version and buy it, but that's easily ignorable...do a google search for "winzip") and inside the folder is a jpg for each set of pages from the pamphlet. (Note: I sent these to Brad asking him to post it on the site but he's a busy guy.) The file is fairly small, only around 4 mb, and the pamphlet is very well done. Included with the jpgs is how I came into this pamphlet and what I fail to mention is, my friend who gave it to me saw hickey at a show in the Mission, I'm pretty sure it was Starcleaners, and found it (the pamphlet, not God or venereal disease) there. Enjoy.

Just to let you all know the Fuckboyz discography cd is out now on Fast Crowd Records. I had very little to do with this reissue other than providing a few tapes and permission so don't blame me for the atrocious artwork. The cd contains almost all the recorded output of the band including demo stuff from 1987.
