thought about you a lot yesterday. Happy Birthday Matty Luv.
I used to play drums with a band called Kreamy 'Lectric Santa, and my first show with them was in a warehouse in Atlanta with Hickey, Cavity and Black Fork and Gregg Pagington's band. It's the same warehouse that Priya would later hurt herself in.
This was the one and only time I ever met Matty, but it was great. I was just a little kid, and Matty was really nice to me, telling me what a great job I was doing. The warehouse had a halfpipe, and I'll never forget riding up and down it listening to Hickey blow me away.
It's nice to see someone doing something positive to keep Matty's memory floating around in hyperspace. Cheers.
nice site mate i thought i would just say hello
Alrighty.....I struggled with this decision, believe me, but I've listed all of my Hickey albums on eBay....we could really use the money.....so if anyone's interested:

I figure I have all of the songs on my iPod.....so.....
....yah - I'm really not happy about this, but there it is.
And this process has made me this about Matty a lot, obviously.
Take care, everybody!

man, i still think about matty all the fucking time. and, theres a whole lotta people out here that now know who hickey were. in fact, my wife (a late blooming punk/hc afficionado) seems to agree with me that they were/remain the best band ever, and its kinda hard to take anything else in the punk vein seriously once you see what one group of dudes could do with it. so, yeah, thanks guys. aesop, we should hang out next time im in town... -pablo
Something made me think of you today. I'm glad this site is here, even if its just a sliver to help trigger more memories.
It feels like this shit wont ever end.
Lynette was amazing - I remember Matty recording her singing some sixties motown song (be my baby ?) in the closet and she had the prettiest voice. I miss them both. If anyone out there is still shottin' dope please get some Narcan- if yer in SF you can get some at SFNE.
Stay strong everybody
When will this shit end?
We have lost another beloved Naked Cult member.
Lynette Knackstedt passed away on December 7. She was the rad guitar player in Skankin pickle, 78 RPMs, and the first bass player in the Faggz. Worked her ass off to release "Mission Accomplished" on Dill Records. She was a very dear friend and a superhero to many of us. Somewhere I have a scratchy microcassette recording of her playing a beautiful acoustic version of "Waiting for the Swelling to go Down" and hopefully I can find it and share it with you all. She was a huge fan of Hickey, and her tattoo can be seen on the Naked Cult page.
P.S. In case any of you have forgotten, shooting drugs is fucked up! And if you must, don't do it alone!
much love, T
