i can't believe a year has passed! you guys are so cool. it's always a comforting thing to come here and read all the notes dedicated to a guy we all loved. i was cleaning out my closet and found a lock of matty's hair in a jewelry box from like 1992. his hair was dark green and purple and i coulda sworn i could still smell him. a little while later i went into my office and moved a box off the desk and a hickey sticker fluttered onto the floor like a punk rock butterfly. whenever i go through my 45's, magazines, closets, etc. i always find letters, fabric patches, notes, envelopes and flyers from him and i get very happy when i see his writing..and i can't help but smile. he's everywhere!! :)
i sat in dolores park by myself early this morning in remeberence of matty. we miss you. your life has touched us all in some way, and you will never be forgotten. On the way back from dolores park, on the side a phone in front of a liquor store was a hickey heart. it made me smile.
hope there is a lot of white zombie playing in the background wherever you are.
I think I'll drink a forty of Malt Liquor today. Then maybe I'll launch Roman candles at the giant Hammering Man statue beside my building tonight in honor of Matty.
Matty and I were at the Nightbreak perusing his dictionary and we decided we wanted a word just for us. We chose lugubrious. From time to time I'd get a message, "Hey Jeanette, I just heard the word lugubrious and thought of you." I sent him a postcard not so long before he died saying the same. I'm currently surrounded by nobody who has ever heard of him, and I just keep thinking, "Wow, Matty, we couldn't have picked a better word." Tomorrow I'll be soaking postmarks off of stamps with rubbing alocohol and feeling a little homesick for the Mission.
gravity is pretty heavy today
I miss you Matty Luv

I loved matty from the very first time i met him ( at the cajun cove fisherman's bar in mississippi) he truly was his own person and I feel honored to have been lucky enough to spend some time with him. he was a inspiration, a light the dark, and the tallest person to live in a closet i ever knew. I love and miss you matty, here's a drink to you. my mom also sends her condolence's.

To all interested...My name is George and I played drums in the F-Boyz for roughly 2 years when Aesop first moved to S.F., and I was in the band when we first moved to S.F. as well. I have recently come across several F-boyz shows on video, and have transferred them to DVD. I have tried contacting Scotty, Matty's brother, but I can't seem to get in touch with him. If anyone knows how to contact him, please e-mail me or have him e-mail me at torpedo_lucas@yahoo.com. Thanks. Also if anyone is interested in purchasing these shows on DVD, please contact me as well. Thanks.
Hey, my friend Jason is selling a bunch of copies of the Napoleon compilation 7" on his fancy new website. He's selling a lot of other good stuff too, so check it out. The Napoleon 7" has "Errol Flynn..." by the Fuckboyz. Anyway, blah blah blah.

My mom heard me listening to Hickey while I was in my room, and she heard El Farolito, and she was convinced that it was a Guns n Roses song. so I proceeded to tell her it was not, and showed her the lyrics and everything, and she said "maybe they just changed a few words here and there" and is still convinced it's a cover but she can't think of what that GNR song is called. is el farolito a rip off or what? anybody know of the GNR song that she's probably talking about? I think she's crazy.
that can't be aesop making the drdredel.com site. it's like someone trying to be him but without the bite. some pretty coincidental stuff on there though...
FUCK-listening to a tape that either Matt or Scott gave me back when they lived back here in NJ. DK's,Black Flag,Suicidal Tendacies(1st album) and a lotta other stuff whos names escapes me right now. cocaine and whisky is no help to my brain cells. so anyway, ive got a a story about matty and me playing a couple of high school talent shows here in NJ before he and Scott moved to Florida amd ive been kicking myself in the ass for not keeping in touch with the two of them for 17 years now... and ive gotta say....my ass hurts!
I've gotta tape of those talent shows somewhere. Matty-help me find it.
More later....
