I miss Matty more and more each day. I knew that It would hit me harder a year after it happened than right away. I feel so honored to have known his sarcastic ass tho...This site is so sweet ya'll! The last time I saw Matty: Matty and Sarah were walking down Capp St on a sunny afternoon on their way to the record store... I was out front of my house making a cardboard elephant suit painted orange with the words "Elephants Against War"... Matty said hi with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth .He looked at my suit and laughed and kept on walking... I loved being his friend , travelling as a roadie for Hickey, being in a band with him and starting a needle exchange program together. It was Ro, Quijan, Matty , and I who started it illegally in the park and now it is a full fledged city run program with paid positions! Who said the punks can't get anything done?!Greg Harvester, Cinque ,Iggy, and I started a new band called Allergic to Bullshit.. We'll be on a US tour this summer Look for us by God!! 😡

Oh man is it good to see Aesop posting. It's hard for me to look at this site. But when I do I always feel much better.

I'm still collecting money for the three disk yogurt release. I put all money I get in a for Matty Luv spot so I don't go poking into it when times are tight. I'm still unemployed and have three other releases to put out. But soon, I assure you. If anyone would like The All Seeing Monotony CD with Yogurt all you have to do is mail me $2 for postage and I'll send it your way. Much rather have the fans with no money get to listen. That Yogurt stuff has got to be my favorite thing Matty did. Just listening to the guitar layers can put you inter dimensional.

hey, does anybody know what the not-matty luv members of Off Da Pigs are up to these days? I have the record and I still know basically nothing about this group. did they play a lot of shows? i've seen a live pic of them. were any shows recorded?
Aaron May 29, 2003 at 11:54 AM
the singer was a straight northside gangster. you can hella hear it in all the words. i don't know where it was, but i read some story about how they would go and beat people up and then go to band practice. they were a rad band though.
Mike Wilson May 29, 2003 at 4:09 PM
woah, that's crazy.. interesting though.

wow, i've intentionally avoided this site for a while, hoping the hurt would subside some before i wrote here. then, being a total luddite and an idiot, i forget how to submit to my journal section of this thing (help todd) My 2 year old son, ezra lux, wil not let me sleep ever again so now i look. i see so many people that i lost touch with, and alot of people i've never met saying the things that i needed to hear. thanks to everyone who posted, you've made me feel proud and a little less saddened, which is important in a world that seems to thrive on making you feel unhappy and ashamed, (how do you think they sell all those products to make you not smell like shit anymore?) Matty was my best friend, and i find myself still having conversations with him. i see a movie or hear a song he would've loved and i think i have to call him, and then i remember...oh yeah, there is no more. his birthday fast approaches, he hated those. but he's a lucky man that never has to get any older now. fuck, i'm so overwhelmed by all of this love for hickey. it's not that i didn't know, i still see the heart spraypainted all over this heartless town. thanks people, i love you all. anyone and everyone with questions about lyrics,releases, anything, or just wanting to keep in touch feel free to e mail me, although i hate computers, i will respond, promise. i'm espescially interested in hearing from people who played in bands with us on tour, i'm missing the road and you, so write me. I have no more records though, that lil' bastard Mike Wilson got the last of it, i can't thinkof anyone more deserving at this point.--aesop

Aesop, glad to see that you were able to come here and see everything that people have been saying about Matty and Hickey. I have all the info you need to make journal posts, so I'll email that information soon.

I was wondering if anybody has the lyrics to matty luv's solo stuff from the matty & max 7"? other than "happily ever after" I can't figure out the lyrics to the other songs, only parts of them. and also, if anybody has any Fuckboyz lyrics that aren't on this site, I really need that stuff..
I wanna do "hickey sounding" versions of matty's solo songs with my band but i need lyrics. this probably won't work or will sound like shit but it sounds like it could be fun anyways.

made me think of this poem.. hope this is ok...

from Gitanjali
by Rabindranath Tagore
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection:
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is lead forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action—
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.

Endless non verbal conversations in the van last summer. inside jokes that never needed to be mention to bring us laughing at the same time. it was the eyes, man. remembering the sleep lines all over his back after he'd wake up and sit reading on the life of darby crash....probably my finest 2 weeks in this life.

Hickey played 3 times in Juárez, México, all of them memorable. And I still think Aesop really played with Whitesnake 😛 Cheers!!!

hickey is still the greatest rock band ever.
herion still sucks.

so many great songs.

are we ever gonna get more songs available on this site?
i'd love to hear more yogurt.

how could someone so smart, and concerned for others, get lost to such a thing?
god is a prick.

You can check a couple of Yogurt tracks at this address, unless you already have them... it's probably already in the links here but in case you're not aware...

I'm sure Joe is fine with me linking you here, but he'd probably appreciate it more if you bought the entire CD with the Yogurt stuff you're after.

yeah, the all seeing monotony is a very good cd and worth the money. the packaging alone might even be worth it..

Also, I'd like to talk to you about S.p.A.M. Records and the various states repressing...
